Elion reflects a careful balance between contemporary comfort and the understated beauty of rural island life. The houses draw inspiration from traditional island architecture and Mediterranean culture, expressed through natural materials, soft forms, and human-scale design.
At the same time, Elion consciously moves away from unnecessary complexity. It encourages a return to the essentials, modesty, natural textures, and the beauty of imperfection, allowing guests to eliminate distractions and reconnect with what truly matters.
Here, comfort comes not from excess, but from ease, clarity, and quiet confidence.
Elion is rooted in the Greek countryside. Surrounded by open farmland, olive trees from the family grove, and aromatic and medicinal herbs, the landscape is not a backdrop but an essential part of daily life.
The land shapes the architecture, the rhythm of the days, and the way the spaces are experienced. It grounds each stay in nature and seasonality, creating a constant, gentle connection between indoors and outdoors.
The name Elion is inspired by the Greek word Elaionas, meaning an olive grove. It reflects a close relationship to the land, to simplicity, and to the rhythms of rural life in Kos.
At the heart of the complex, as well as in the private garden of each home, stands an olive tree, a quiet symbol of continuity, grounding, and life lived close to nature. Over time, Elion will also be home to its own olive grove, growing alongside the houses and the people who stay here.
The idea of Elion is deeply personal. Our family has an olive grove in Zia village, where, as children, we spent our days harvesting olives alongside our parents. Those moments shaped the way we understand the land, the seasons, and the value of simple, shared work.
Elion carries that memory forward, not as nostalgia, but as a living link between past and present, place and home.
Elion is built around the idea of slow summer living. Days are unhurried, spaces flow naturally between indoors and outdoors, and privacy allows each guest to settle into their own rhythm.
Life unfolds through slow mornings, shared meals, private pools, and evenings guided by silence, breeze, and stars. Whether enjoyed alone, as a couple, or with family and friends, Elion offers the freedom to live simply, comfortably, and intentionally.
Elion is a personal project created by brothers Stergos and Tassos. Born from a shared love for simplicity and a strong connection to Kos, Elion was envisioned as a collection of private homes rather than a hotel. Places designed to feel calm, familiar, and genuinely lived in, where comfort comes from space, light, and ease.
Our aim was to create something honest and respectful of its surroundings, rooted in the way island life is truly experienced. At Elion, hospitality follows the spirit of Philoxenia, the Greek notion of welcoming the stranger with sincerity, care, and warmth, without formality.
Above all, Elion is guided by our desire to offer guests a truly authentic Kosnian vacation, one that reflects how life on the island is meant to be lived.
